A brief journal of our day to day happenings in the months that Jack is volunteering abroad. Just to keep him informed of the things that were going on back home while he was gone.
Happy Valentines Day! or i should say, ¡Feliz Día de San Valentín!
ps. I just remembered: concerning my plan in March, i was kind of reluctant to stay here in Pisco past Feb 29 not because i dont think i can stand it but because a group of 15 volunteers is coming to the house on March 1st and i though it would be a bit more convenient to kind of slip out before they get there. But I talked to Haydee today and she explained how the 15 were going to be accomodated, she said i could easily stay longer if i want, etc. So: i may stay a week or so more in Pisco before travelling south to Lake Titicaca, perhaps Arequipa, and perhaps-perhaps all the way to Chile (my outline of a plan as of now...where do you think i should go??) I spoke with Jenny Torres on my Pisco phone today since emailing just doesnt seem to work, and she said chances are slim about a two-week program elsewhere in Peru, and that volunteering in Bolivia is highly impractical, even getting across the border is extremely difficult - thats fine since i was never very excited about visiting Bolivia anyway. Peru has all i need! :) Jenny will call me later to discuss my options for March. I know whatever i do i will probably have a period of travelling-solo time that is longer than any solo trip ive done before. how do you feel about that? i love to hear your (electronic) voice!! :) LOVE YOU ALL HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
